Principal’s Message

With immense pleasure I have the privilege to welcome you to PM Shri Atal Utkrisht Govt Inter College Almora website. Its a historical school, which was established in 1889 as Hindu High school. Later in 1921 it was upgraded as Govt Intermediate college. Mr J C Powell Price was the first principal of this prestigious school. Since then, this school has established many records of success. From the year 2022 it is being affiliated through CBSE. Now the school is co-ed and girls are also studying here. It consists of grades from 6 to 12. The medium of instructions is both Hindi & English. At present 700 students are studying here.
Our school has a long and proud history of academic excellence. Not only the history of establishment of this institution is old, but this institution has given education to such personalities , who have brought laurels not only to Uttarakhand but also in India and abroad. As a principal, I am very impressed by the commitment of the highly educated teaching staff for providing excellent education to our students. As a team we promote academic achievements among our students. We are committed to provide rigorous and challenging education to our students that will prepare them for success in college and beyond. We are continuously providing quality education without any discrimination. As a result of the hard work of the efficient leadership of the school administration, the students have made not only the school proud but also the country proud. In the board examination, many students have found their place in the state merit list and every year our students are also getting success in different competitive exams. Apart from studies they are also getting medals in state and national level sports competitions. Our students are performing well in science, cultural, quiz and debate competitions.
